If we consider "boot" the type of shoes that protect part of the leg, it can be said that they have been used since allways by men to protect from climate and wildlife, they were made with different pieces of leather.

However, the first historical records of boots come from the Assyrians, around 1.100 bC, we can notice leather footwear for military use covering the legs just until below the knee and differentiating both feet.

Later on even Greek and Roman armies were also using this type of footwear to protect in the battles and even from minor injuries as they were moving through adverse terrain.

Manufacture and use of boots in Spain is known since allways. Since the Middle Ages there were used, done in metal shields going until below the knee, either in leather for reaching a more easy riding.

In the Spanish armies that conquered much of the known world, the boot was one of the essential elements of the troops, boots even covering much of the thigh to protect soldiers from cold, moisture and minor injuries.

Boots were also part of the uniform of those conquerors who have colonized the New World: America.

The settlement of the colonists in America and the development of farmers in the vast American plains brings to a boot evolution, becoming shorter, with a finest shape and beseled heel for riding easiers and to facilitate slip on stirrups horses.

SANCHO factory foundation beguns in 1947, a few years after the terrible Spanish Civilian War and World Wars. In a Europe in ruins and starting a global rebuilding, few shoe craftsmen of Almansa (Albacete, Spain) decided to join efforts and create a cooperative venture of footwear.

During 50th an 60th decades, Sancho factory has allready approximately 600 employees; a really large company with facilities: canteen, barber shop, school, nursery for children’s workers, leather tanning, etc., and exporting its products throughout Europe, USA and Canada. Sancho initially was specialized in Goodyear Welt boots manufactures, a double stitching construction of the sole that improves durability and comfort of the shoe, complete floor insulation, free of shoe deformation.All this, plus mainly the use of top quality cow and exotic leathers, brings Sancho boots to be a great product, opinion shared by customers. Few customers after years of using a pair of Sancho’s boot have contacted the company to buy an identical pair like the one buyed a decade earlier.

Almost 70 years after its foundation, in the XXI century, Sancho has managed to unify the latest technologies matching with about 80 completely handmade process to obtain a first quality product that bring the factory to obtain the Quality Certification according to standard UNE ISO9001/2008.The products are availables in Europe, America, Asia, Oceania and Africa stores. Actually Sancho and its employees are considered such as a big family where everyone is personally involved in getting the best product, perhaps therein lies the secret of the success ...
